Why aluminium contoured side-release buckles?
Our collars are fitted as standard with all metal side-release buckles.
We found that plastic buckles don’t provide nearly the tensile strength of a metal buckle - only about 187lbs or 85kg for a 1” buckle - This is not a lot if you consider the strength of a medium size or large dog.
We don’t believe that's good enough and we would not use plastic buckles for our own dogs. Therefore, we wouldn’t sell it to you!
According to our supplier:

'At just over 500lbs. or 250kg (applies to 1” side-release buckle, all tests by straight pull), our ALL metal side-release buckles are twice as strong as most plastic buckles on the market today.'
‘ALL metal side-release buckles are unbreakable by dog bite. Dogs can easily crush all plastic buckles.’

Why Polypropylene webbing?
We prefer polypropylene webbing to nylon webbing, because nylon webbing can expand when wet, making a nylon collar less safe for your dog
